Kurvenhaus Hamburg

Dejligt afslappet.

We went to quite a lot of shops while in Hamburg, but we actually didn't shop a lot. I always find it hard to find plus size treasures in a new country where you don't know the little tricks. And the tricks I did know about Germany didn't really offer much this time around. But I went to this one store that was recommended by some of you! And I thank you so much for that! The shop is: Kurvenhaus in Hermannstraβe. We went there as soon as we figured out where it was hiding (in a street that was hiding behind Europa Passage). Apart from a few beauty products - my favourite body lotion from Clarins and a nude eyeliner, I only bought something in Kurvenhaus on my trip. Then again; I almost spend all of my Euros right there and then. They couldn't accept my card, so I had to pay cash - but it was so worth it!

I was so happy for the rest of the day after visiting this store. The atmosphere was so nice, the clothes were lovely and the staff were kind. We had the nicest talk about Denmark, plus size fashion and plus size girls who need to put away the thought that only grey and black tents work as clothing. We talked about plus size girls being sexy and that we need to dress sexy too. And then we talked about hope, dreams and believing that our opportunities are getting better, partly because the industry is catching up and also because plus size girls are realizing and deciding that the opportunities has to be there and that we will seize them too.

The service was amazing. I never had a question coming for long before someone was ready to answer it or bring up new ideas. At the same time they didn't walk right behind you all the time and gave you space to think about things and do your own thing. The same happened when I was trying on the clothes. I felt like I had all the time in the world and a hand for help near by all the time. And my boyfriend was offered a cup of coffee (I had to say no being all full from the giant German breakfast) and a magazine in a nice chair - perfect and relaxed!

And as said I didn't leave empty handed. What's in the bag (by the way beautifully wrapped in silk paper and in company of a BiB-magazine!) you'll have to see at some other time. But I can tell you that it's not gray or black. The nice woman at the store talked me out of buying the gray one. It's actually in a bright colour that so far haven't been in my closet (at least not for the longest time). Take a guess if you feel like it. Oh yeah, and it's Danish design. Because it makes sense to travel somewhere to buy Danish things... well...

And for the record: This post isn't sponsored. It's just me babling about a place I really, really liked.
