Picturespam: Hamburg day 1 & 2

I'm almost back on top again, I think. Not quite back on my feet though (I'm still weak and dizzy), but I'm able to sit and think again. I promised I would tell you about our weekend trip to Hamburg - I'll split it up a bit and here's part one. The first day was mostly about going by bus for a looong time so when we arrived in Hamburg we didn't have much energy for anything but dinner, walking a bit around town and then go back to the hotel to seek shelter from the cold.

We had dinner at Edel Curry, who at some point had the titel "Best Curry Wurst in Germany". I don't know if they still hold that title and I can't tell you if it's true, since I haven't had THAT many. But I will say that it's delicious at Edel Curry. The chocolate mousse too. The last time we went to Hamburg we also had dinner at Edel Curry on the first night - it's easy and quick and I stop the instant craving for Curry Wurst I get when I cross the border to Germany.

We stayed at the same hotel as last year - Holiday Inn Express and like last time we were very happy with our stay. The staff is nice, the rooms are nice, breakfast is great, the U-Bahn is close by. The only complain could be the boring tea at our room. But at least we could make tea at our room - and I really needed that! Partly because it was very cold walking around town and partly because we actually got sick while we were there.

On day two we went shopping around Europa Passage and went to Schanzenviertel that was recommended by many of you. It was a fun and charming area and I was so happy when we walked by Herr Max. I had read about it at Katha's, but I forgot to write the adress down. They had room for us and we had the best cake. It was so good. The rest of the day pretty much passed by just walking around, relaxing and having a good time.

Stakkel.

I always feel happy when I walk across a bridge like this with love locks. We don't see much of it in Denmark, but I like the thought. I laughed quite a bit when I saw the giant lock - someone's afraid of Love falling apart? Poor thing.

To gange - frokost og aftensmad.

Oh, and we ate at Vapiano. Twice - lunch and dinner. It was like that last we were in Germany too. We always end up at Vapiano. A lot. We really like the feeling and the food there. Lovely.

I'll return with even more Hamburg-babling one of these days. Take care!
