Getting to know you!

Hej!

Hi there! A while ago I answered some questions at Natalie's and I thought it was really fun. So I though I would borrow her questions, add a few and then cross my fingers and hope that some of you feel like answering! No matter if you've been commenting on my blog before or not I would love to hear from you. Especially I would love to hear from you if you've been reading my blog and been quiet so far. If you would rather just say hi or tell me something else about yourself - feel free to do so! I would just love to hear from you.

  2. Hi,
    I'm Ina.

    1. Where do you live?
In Kassel (Germany). Just moved together with my boyfriend into a sweet apartment with river-view (yeah)

    2. If you had to live in another place - where would it be and why?
Somewhere by the sea... river is already nice though...

    3. What do you do for a living?
    I work in an office.

What are you doing when feel like you’re really living?
Anywhere outside (preferably near water, I just love it) for a long walk with my sweety. (o:

    4. You have to move out of your house in 5 minutes. What items do you grab?
    J. and our yearly photobooks. Well, just J. and maybe my purse (I can be quite pragmatic)... notebook... well

    6. What’s one brand that has your loyalty?
    those who care.
I'm no saint and too often I'm quite lazy... I'm not even vegetarian (that's where the lazyness and the appreciation of good meat starts) but I decided to eat meat not more than twice a week and then from (at least while living) happy animals, eggs from happy chicken and so on.

I try to transfer it to clothes and that is hard. First there are only a few companies who have fair production conditions and the next point is big sizes.
So I made the decision to buy very few clothes... that's okay, I cannot wear more than one pant at the same time and my closet is still full (to be honest it's overcrowded and i give away at least one, better two pieces when I buy a new one). Then I try to buy "second hand" very easy with eBay and there's even have a big sizes flea market for clothes in my town twice a year (only girls are allowed to visit it). That's the most ecological, it has already been produced, I'm only extending its lifetime. And then there's some brands who (partially) started producing fair and ecologically (even in big sizes) such as Gudrun Sjödén, Deerberg and my very favorite is a German little company called Manomama... founded by a lady, Sina, who is incredible, she only produces in Germany, hires employees who had no chance on the labor marked in the past years ("too old", have not worked for a long time, disabled, suffering from alcoholism... etc.), she trats them well, offers them various time-models, pays them well, the materials for her clothes are all ecological... the clothes have their price but they are basics, very well tailored and last very long... her return quote lies under 5% (as far as I remember correctly). Just imagine how much I always order in many different sizes and return 90% and more... . She used to work in a very different area and was sick of the conditions so she started her own business... the online-shop is almost empty right now because they are enlarging their production hall... I you go to a DM (Shop) in Germany, they produce the green and red shoppingbags from fabric!
oh, that was a good question. (o:

    1. Hi Ina.
Thank you so much for your comment! An apartment with river view sounds amazing! Also; I'm with you on the happy animals-part. I try to live after it as much as my poor student life lets me.

As for the clothes I really respect you for your choices! It must be really hard - I mean... It's hard enough just to find good plus size clothing as it is.

    2. well, it's not that hard because I'm not very consequent (and dress rather comfortable than stylish), but I'm trying. (o:
Just found a blog about an austrian shopping addicted lady who didn't buy any clothes for 1 year (after she lost directions in her closet) and what I read is that she feels very relieved (and much more creative with combining what she has and discovering long forgotten things in her closet) and she even gave away half of her clothes to friends...
      sounds good to me.
one of my big shopping faults is buying because it fits (and the feeling that it doesn't happen too often...) ... (that's why I love shoes, scarves and bags alot... )

Thank you for the Hamburg-Kurvenhaus-tip! I've just been to Hamburg but never in that shop. Have to go back soon.... well, maybe better not... *g*

Do you have any Copenhagen-tip? We plan to go there in April.

and then I thought about question 5. Most time the radio is on so I would say I listen to everything (that's complete nonsense...). If I choose I love jazz (tingvall trio), choirs, good acappella, often scandinavian (Pust, Vocado, Witloof Bay, Rockapella, Real Group, The Magnets, Wise Guys...), Singers like Herman van Veen, Hannes Wader, Sting, U2, Wallflowers.... well... there's a lot more but it's the same dilemma with books, better don't ask me about title or author... sometimes I just remember the color of the frontside...

    3. I always try to do "no-shopping" months but I always seem to find something I can't live without. Right now though I actually think I could go quite some time without buying clothes and stuff like that. At least if I stay away from shops. ;)I whole year sounds like a really long time to me though, but I'm sure it's healthy! And you're right. My closet is filled with clothes - and some of it I don't even remember anymore. It's not that long ago I cleaned it all up and gave a lot away.

I know that feeling - it fits, lets buy. I felt that way for the longest time I guess and it's just not right.. It shouldn't be that way at al.

You're very welcome! You need to go there. They are so nice. But watch out for your money. ;)

Since I don't live in Copenhagen I can't really give you the greates insider-tips, but I would be happy to help! What kinds of tips are you looking for? You can send me an e-mail on pieceofmymindblog@gmail.com and we can have a chat about it. :)

I know that dilemma! It's a hard one.

  3. It's nice to now a little bit more of the persons who follow. So, here I go. :-)

    1. Germany
    2. I think, it would be Ireland or Norway.
    3. Take a long walk with my dog.
    4. Sure, without my dog, I wouldn't leave my house. But he follows me anyway. So I would grab my smartphone. And when I have to move quickly because it burns or something like that, I would grab my laptop too. :D
    5. Artist: Lena Meyer-Landrut. I really really really love her new album "Stardust".

    1. Hi Ina! Nothing is wrong with the comments - phew, luckily! I was just away for the weekend. I'm sorry! I'm so happy that you wrote a novel - I can't wait to read it tomorrow. I just got home from Hamburg now and I'm quite sick so I'll be off to bed now. Thank you so much and I'm sorry!

      xx

    1. Denmark. Aalborg, but soon Nørresundby.
    2. Still in Aalborg. It is definitely my town <3
    3. I actually just dropped out of my education, and is now getting money-help (kontanthjælp) from Aalborg municipality (kommunen), while I am searching for all the jobs I can.
And what I do, when I feel living, is when I am with the scouts, I am leader for.
    4. My three owl teddy bears and the books I can carry.
    5. I actually don't listen to anything special, and it is also very rare, that I'm actually listen to music.
    6. Change! They have my bra-size and not just in boring colours. A bit expensive, but I get quality.
