Casual sequins

De sidste par dage har jeg taget mig tid til at holde lidt fri fra eksamen. Jeg har spist lækker brunch med min kærestes forældre, været til stomp/symfoni-koncert i musikhuset, været til familiefødsesldag, haft migræne og blærebetændelse, passet min kærestes søde nevø og set min søster. Så når vi lige ser bort fra det dér sygdom, som heldigvis er på retur, så har det altså været nogle helt igennem skønne dage. Fra i morgen giver jeg den lige den sidste slutspurt, så jeg kan aflevere min allersidste eksamen, før det begynder at stå i specialets tegn. Jeg afleverer på fredag og inden da skal jeg også lige synge til korkoncert og være på arbejde, så der bliver nok at se til! Men så står den også på en uges ferie, før jeg skal knokle med et sommerferie-fuldtids-job. Og i den ferie, skal jeg klippes! Yes - det har jeg også brug for!

I've been taking a few days off from my exam the last couple of days. I've had brunch with my boyfriend's parents, went to a stomp/symphony concert, been to a family birthday, been sick with migraines and cystitis, been looking after my boyfriends cute nephew and having fun with my sister. So apart from the sick-thing I've had some wonderful days. As from tomorrow I'm back to the exam, the last tough days, so I can hand in my last ever exam, before everything gets thesis related (damn... I just realized THIS exam is thesis related too). I'll hand it in on Friday and before that I'll be singing at a concert with my choir and working a bit too. So I'll have enough on my hands. But after this Friday I'll have a week off - and I'm going to see my hair dresser. Yay! It's needed.

Ja, der er ret stille herinde ligenu - og det kommer der sikkert også til at være den næste uges tid eller to. Jeg sidder nemlig med hovedet begravet i eksamener, men en enkelt overspringshandling eller to kan der vel godt blive plads til. Ligenu sidder jeg udenfor i solen og skriver på min eksamen - og så dukkede der altså lige en overspringshandling op! Her er et outfit fra den anden dag, hvor jeg var på vej på arbejde. Jeg er faktisk blevet ret glad for at gå i lidt mere sarte farver - selvom jeg selvfølgelig også stadig har alt for meget sort i skabet. Og så er det forresten Junarose igen!

Right now I'm sitting in the sun trying to do my exam - but then something (this) got in the way! A couple of days ago I wore this to work. Lately I've been drawn to more light colours - well... of course I still have way too much black in my closet, but you know what I mean. Oh and by the way - it's Junarose again.

POD: Stylish Work Outfit

Så er årets første måned næsten gået og det er mandag, så det betyder at det er tid til månedes Plus Size Outfit Day - hvis du ikke har hørt om konceptet før, så kan du læse mere om det her. Da jeg hørte månedens tema tænkte jeg, at det ikke kunne blive alt for svært at komme op med et stilet arbejds-outfit - jeg arbejder trods alt i en tøjforretning. Men da jeg så kiggede mit skab igennem, blev jeg alligevel overrasket over, hvor meget hverdagstøj jeg har gået i på arbejde på det sidste. Da jeg startede med at stå i butik syntes jeg, at det var alletiders at være pænt klædt på hver gang. Nu er det bare rart med en praktisk sweatshirt - men hvem har egentlig sagt, at det ikke kan være stilet? 

Personligt er jeg ret glad for det her outfit. Jeg mener: Hvem kan ikke lide fred? Neon-detaljerne er ganske vist ret grænseoverskridende for mig, men jeg kan ret godt lide dem. Og så passer det også utroligt godt til "begge" mine jobs. Mit arbejde i butikken er kun et par gange i ugen - alle andre dage er jeg studerende. Perfekt til begge dele. 

The first year of the month has almost gone by and it's Monday which means it's time for the Plus Size Outfit Day - if you haven't heard about the concept before you can read more about it here. When I heard of the theme for this month I thought it wouldn't be too difficult to come up with a stylish outfit for work. I mean... I work in a clothing store. But that was until I took a look in my closet and realized that lately I've been buying casual clothes for casual days (and when I'm at work I need to wear clothes from work obviously). When I started working there I thought it was awesome to be able to dress up every time I went to work. Now, at least sometimes, I think it's really nice to be casual and practical in a comfy sweatshirt. But then again - who says that can't be stylish?

 Personally I really like this outfit. I mean... Who doesn't like peace? And even though the neon details are a new thing for me I really like them. And the outfit fits quite good for "both" of my jobs. My job in the store is just a few hours a week - all other days I' a student. Perfect for both.

OOTD: New glitter

I går fortalte jeg jer, at jeg havde indledt et shoppestop efter at have købt blazer, trøje og denne paliet-jumper. Jeg har endnu ikke besluttet mig for, hvor længe shoppestoppet skal holde, men jeg regner med at holde november ud. Det bliver en lang måned, har jeg på fornemmelsen. 

Yesterday I told you that I started a "no shopping"-period after buying a shirt and the blazer and sequin-jumper on the photos. I haven't decided how long the period will be, but I'm counting on all of November. I guess it'll be a long month!

Det her havde jeg på igår, for at fejre at det var weekend lige om lidt. Jeg har ingen særlige planer, bortset fra, at jeg skal arbejde søndag. Og læse, selvfølgelig. Det er altså dejligt med weekender uden alt for mange planer!

I wore this yesterday because I felt like celebrating that is was almost weekend. I don't really have any plans, but I'm working Sunday and I will be studying too. I like weekends without too many plans!

OOTD: New stripes

Jeg købte denne trøje og blazer den anden dag. Og en anden lille jumper, som I får at se en af dagene. Jeg har besluttet mig for, at det også betyder, at der er shoppestop for mit vedkommende. Jeg har mere tøj end jeg har brug for og jeg må hellere spare lidt på pengene her op til jul.

I bought this shirt and blazer the other day. Along with a jumper, which I will show you one of these days. I've decided that this marks a "no shopping"-period for me. I've got more clothes than I need and I better save some money with Christmas coming and all.

Vi blev nødt til at tage blitzen i brug, da vi tog billeder i dag - klokken fire om eftermiddagen. Så ved man at året går på hæld. Jeg er ikke rigtig fan, men der er nu alligevel noget hyggeligt ved mørke aftener. Selvom det virkelig gør det her outfit-billede-projekt besværligt. 

We had to use the flash today taking these pictures - at four in the afternoon! You know the year is coming to an end then... I'm not really a fan, but there is something nice about dark evenings, though. Even though it is making this outfit-photo-thing difficult.

 Here's what I wore when I went to my boyfriends father's birthday yesterday. We had a nice day with nice people, nice cakes and nice children. I'm so happy that my hair is long enough (finally!) to do something else than just leave it hanging. Wonder how long it will be before I'll cut it off again.

Plus Size Outfit Day

After reading about the "Plus Size Outfit Day" at Katha I decided to join right away. This month's theme is "Black&White" and even though I must admit I'm not a big fan of white I just wanted to join in the fun from the beginning. This is actually the only piece of white clothes I have. I think there must be a rule about white clothes; wear them and get dirty! That's just so unpractical!

Something new.

A few posts ago I gave you a lot of random facts about me, one of them being that I haven't coloured my hair for more than two years. However "rules" are meant to be broken and so I broke the "you don't need to colour your hair"-rule yesterday. 

So today my hair is new. So is the shirt and the scarf. I wore this to work today and now I'm almost already ready to go to bed. To days at work really made me tired - wonder how it'll turn out when I have three weeks in a row. I guess I should just enjoy my weekend and worry about it on monday.

BFSC Wear something that you normally wouldn't wear

 I can't believe this is my last entry for the Big Fat Summer Challenge. It feels sad and good at the same time. Sad because I've been having so much fun with it and good because I'm kinda proud of myself for doing it and pushing my fashion boundaries the way I have. So before we go on to today's outfit I just want to say thank you to everyone who wrote sweet comments along the way, thanks to all the wonderful ladies who took part in the challenge for being an inspiration and thanks to Jennifer for hosting the challenge.

So... At this time in the challenge, to me, it seems a little strange to check of the "something you normally wouldn't wear" just because I've already done that a "million" times before during this challenge. I mean... I did it when I wore a bodycon outfit, I did it when I wore short shorts, I did it when I wore the two piece bikini/swimsuit and the sleeveless and the strappless and the cropped top, the high waisted bottom (especially without my tights) and the "Hi Lo" because of the stripes.

So I thought... What to do now? And I decided to have fun with it - and besides my shoes and my new denim jacket and my new earrings I wore things that have been lying around but haven't been used in ages.

I normally don't wear dresses that are this short and I normally don't wear bright coloured tights because I think it draws too much attention to my thighs. Also the dress is full of sequins and usually I don't wear too glittery stuff. I normally don't wear really red lipstick and hats because I think it feels and looks too dressed up. And I normally wouldn't wear black nail polish because I've always felt it was for the "cool and brave" girls that don't mind what other people thinks.

Instead of painting my nails all black I did something I normally wouldn't do. I did a... do you call it a manicure even when it's just one nail and when the nail got messed up when I put on my tights? Nail polish is a tricky little devil... Even when you've waited for it since forever to dry, it's never dry enough to put on tights. Anyway! I tried to do a fishbone-print on one nail - inspired by the lovely Mette who's doing all sorts of pretty things on her nails.

I don't know if you can tell how it looks at all from these pictures. I hope you can get the idea, 'cause a close close up is not an option after the sabotage of my tights.

And in the end, to finish this challenge, kisses to all of you for being wonderful!

Oh and by the way we we're so lucky to even get these shots. As we stepped out of our home I said to my boyfriend "Let's just take them here", 'cause I had the feeling that the heavy grey clouds above us weren't going to hang there long. And I was right. We had just stepped inside when the biggest raindrops started banging against our windows. Well, that's just how the Danish summer is.

BFSC Wear a cropped top

I can't believe that after I post this, I only have one more challenge to do. The Big Fat Summer Challenge is coming to an end and I actually think it's kind of sad. I've been having so much fun with planning the outfits, pushing my comfort zone and getting inspired by all the other wonderful ladies taking part in the fun. I can't wait until Jennifer (or someone else?) will do another fall/winter/spring/summer/something-challenge. 

With this post I'll cross the cropped top of my list. Along with the two pieced bikini it send the biggest shivers down my spines and made me really nervous. I had an outfit planned in my head for quite a while, but couldn't get around to do it and then I stumpled across this top in H&M, fell in love with the colour (I've been wearing blue all summer...) and brought it home. 

At first I thought I would style it with my "Hi Lo"-skirt, but then I accidentally bought jeans as well... And a denim-jacket. Woops. So when I got back from work yesterday I did an outfit with the jeans and the top. The pictures didn't come out all that great, if you ask me, so today when I got back from work I did it with the skirt instead. And the denim jacket, because it is colder than yesterday! Apart from other shoes as well the rest is the same; same hair, same make-up, same nail-polish, same watch, same jewelry, same bag. Well, same me. And most importantly; same cropped top. And now I can't choose - so I'll show you both.

When I look at these pictures again I can't help to think, that maybe some shapewear would've done me good. But I do not own such a thing and then again... That's just how I look. I don't even really like wearing shapewear (based on the times I've tried them on...) and I won't buy one before I find one that feels comfortable. And then again; I really don't think shapewear should be mandatory just because you have wobbly bits.
